New Member Recognition Event

Each Golden Key chapter is tasked with hosting an event to induct new members. At these ceremonies, new members join their peers and are recognized for their achievements and are given a certificate of membership. The New Member Recognition Event (NMRE) allows attendees to network and meet student chapter leaders, other members, university administration and faculty and honorary members, as well as learn more about scholarships, member benefits and community service projects.

Golden Key hosts an annual New Member Recognition Event on our campus to celebrate, congratulate and commemorate the academic excellence and achievements of our new members.  Dress for this ceremony is business attire.  Please see details below on this year's New Member Recognition Event.

Welcome New Golden Key Member!

We hope you are planning to join us at the New Member Recognition Ceremony scheduled for Sunday, October 7 in the Student Union Apollo Room at 7pm as we plan to celebrate your membership into Golden Key. We are looking forward to meeting and congratulating you while we honor your continued academic achievement. Here are a few logistics so you can prepare for the ceremony.

Please ensure you RSVP with the # of individuals attending if you have not previously.

Please allow time to register in the lobby prior to the festivities between 6:45 and 6:55. Please ask your guests to enter the room and be seated while you are registering. All new members will be sitting in the front 2 reserved rows of the Apollo Room, all guests may sit in the rows following those 2.

We will be serving light refreshments following the ceremony. I expect many will dine locally before the ceremony, but do allow time for yourselves to register before entering the Apollo Room.

Most individuals that attend dress in their business attire, dresses or skirts, jacket and pants, sweaters and pants, shirt and tie.

If you are unable to attend the induction ceremony, your membership certificate will be available during the next chapter meeting.  Any student at the Lake Campus may email to have your certificate sent via campus mail.

The WSU chapter will be collecting supplies for Wright State's Friendship Food Pantry and Hannah's Treasure Chest. We encourage you, family and friends to bring donations with you to the induction ceremony and join our service project. Please see the list below.

The chapter will also be collecting pennies at the ceremony as we prepare for our annual Ronald McDonald House Penny Drive that takes place in nearly 100 offices on campus during Spring Semester. Our penny drive has become a tradition on campus and we look forward to our contribution every year. Please bring your penny jars and pull tabs from home and donate to the Ronald McDonald House of Dayton!

We will have Golden Key graduation medallions, graduation satin stoles, lapel pins, tie tacks and t-shirts available for purchase following the ceremony. These fundraising efforts at the ceremony benefit the Wright State chapter activities and scholarships. If you cannot attend the ceremony, these graduation medallions, stoles and t-shirts are available at the Student Union Box Office, M-F, 9-5.

There are several volunteer opportunities and officer positions available! Become pro-active and get the best out of what GK has to offer!
